"Our Heavenly Father
I love Exodus 9:16. 'But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you My power that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.' God's heart for us is that we desire the rewards of faith, the freedom from bondage, and the possessing of the promises through prayer. Please understand that I am not pushing a program of faith or a contrived program of prayer that is motivated by the flesh. I'm suggesting we respond to the distinct passion of the Holy Spirit that we be a people or prayer.
II Kings 4:1-7 tells of the miracle of abundance of oil. It's making room for divine blessing that means most to God. Giving God a reason to bless you. His desire. Luke 11:9-13 reminds us of the good things that our Heavenly Father holds in His hands. Don't ever wonder if it is His desire to give you all things. It is.
Blessing from God's hand involves our cooperation. It will require a willingness to believe, a willingness to be available, a willingness to be used, a willingness to be pliable, a willingness to be strengthened, and a willingness to receive.
Take time during these days to pray for others (Matthew 18:19-20). God wants to shower people with His blessing, and He has you in mind. So, 'Sanctify yourself [set yourself apart and remain completely available to the Lord], for tommorrow the Lord will do wonders among you' (Joshua 3:5).
True New Testament life is more than theology, it's action (I Corinthians 2:4). It's believing God will confirm our faith with the signs following. It's realizing His bounty is available to those who ask. I believe our Heavenly Father loves the prayers of the saints. He's promised to heal the sick, strengthen the weak, and stir the saints.
Believing with you,
Ron Mehl"
