"IT'S THE HOLIDAY SEASON
While you may not have heard yet, Thanksgiving, for me, begins the holiday season, which is my most favorite time of the year. For many, though, it can be the busiest, yet lonliest time of the year. During the spray of activity which will be launched for the month following this Thursday's Thanksgiving celebration, would you watch with me for the opportunity to lend something distinctive to the season?
With the Lord leading us, things are: (1) Always demanding in faith and commitment; (2) Always developing in dimension and purpose; (3) Always built upon Biblical principles; (4) Never tedious, predictable, or boring; (5) Always filled with grace and compassion.
I'm looking forward to a special holiday. Special, because it's filled with true, Spirit-filled joy, that has its source in Jesus of Nazareth, not the artificial glee and superficiality the world brings. Special, because it's filled with peace and a gentle spirit, rather than a frantic rush to satisfy everyone's wants, which is motivated by purposelessness and frustration.
I'm suggesting several possibilities:
1. Specialize in discernment; With all the lights, tinsel, and glitter, you'll find people who are starving for love and ache for someone to care.
2. Specialize in prayer; As you address your Christmas cards this year, ask the Father to show you what each person needs, and pray a special blessing upon them and their family.
3. Specialize in compassion; Be so moved by someone's condition that they get under your skin. That's what compassion is... to be so moved by someone, you can't get them off your mind. Become a channel of blessing.
4. Specialize in faith; Begin by believing (faith) God for a supernatural release of His life to happen through you this year. Let faith rise in you to fulfill God's purpose through you.
Thankful for you,
Ron Mehl"
